Let’s start our interview.
Hi Giulia, tell us a little about yourself.
Sure! Hi everyone, let me introduce myself, I’m Giulia Di Leo, founder, and general manager of Your Boat Holiday. What can I say about myself? Let’s see: I was born in Milan, Italy, but I have lived for a long time in the United States, between Florida and California. Here I first approached boating and then to the world of charter boats and yachts.
I have always had a great passion for the sea and the boating world that led me to sail in the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean aboard sailboats and motorboats.
My professional career in the yachting industry began by collaborating on building a successful carrier with Ethos Boats and Azure Embark.
I oversaw the launch of the Ethos brand, as Project Manager, participating in various international boat shows such as Cannes, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Dusseldorf, and Genoa.
All this helped me to develop knowledge in the international boating field and to reach increasingly important goals and satisfactions as a Charter Broker and Yacht Manager until I decided to take my destiny in hand and give birth to Your Boat Holiday.
How did the idea of founding YBH come about?
As I said, after years of experience in the nautical sector, I felt the need to create something of my own, making use of all the skills and experience that I have managed to obtain over the years.
This is why in 2017 he founded Your Boat Holiday, my yacht brokerage company, with the aim of providing our customers with only the best. Dedicated and exclusive service from the rental to the last spent onboard moment.
What, in your opinion, makes Your Boat Holiday one of the best charter companies on the market today?
Well, I don’t want to boast too much, but our customers’ approval rating of our company is really high and this means that we are working well. Certainly, however, we must not and we do not want to stop here.
If we are considered a valid company we owe it to our experience and passion, our commitment and attention to detail, which often make the difference.
Where does YBH operate?
Your Boat Holiday is a nautical charter company dedicated to organizing boat holidays around the world. Our goal is to satisfy the needs of those who rely on us and to do so we have a wide and luxurious selection of yachts, super and megayachts, motorboats, catamarans, and sailboats available.
We operate mainly in the Mediterranean Sea and the Caribbean Sea but we can organize charters on request in any client’s wished place.
What services does YBH offer to its customers?
We at YBH are specialized in providing 5-star and 360-degree assistance regarding our customer’s needs. We are therefore not limited to the simple intermediation between shipowner and charterer. We work only with the best skippers and the best crews to guarantee high-quality standards on board.
The customer experience is particularly important to us and it is for this reason that we guarantee additional services such as restaurant and resort reservations, private transfers to and from the boat, and parties, and events onboard organization.
We provide only high-level standards, cooperating with top charter agencies, and working to satisfy our customers. When you charter a yacht, the choice of the broker is crucial. It’s essential to going ahead with the broker you feel more confident with.
When defining the rental contract we try to predict with the customer what his needs will be, establishing tailor-made itineraries, organizing excursions, and providing local tourist guides.
Our assistance and our support never fail. We are in fact always available to the customer before, during, and even after his vacation.
What does it mean to be an MYBA E-Contract subscriber?
I can briefly explain this by saying that both the owner and charterers such as YBH in order to charter a boat must observe a series of rules and regulations contained in a written and commonly accepted contract that governs relations between both parties.
Why is it a form of protection for your customers?
These types of contracts are known as “Charter Agreement” or “Yacht Services Agreement” and are of fundamental importance to guarantee a whole series of securities even to the customer who simply wants to enjoy his sailing holiday peacefully. The MYBA E-Contract Agreement is made available by MYBA for purchase and uses electronically only by established, genuine, and reputable Yacht Brokers.
The main yacht broker associations have each developed and created their own standard contract model. Among these, one of the most important and common is the MYBA E-Contract Charter Agreement, used also by Your Boat Holiday.
We end this short interview with advice, what would you like to say to those interested in a sailing holiday?
Nothing easier! My answer and my thought are that it is an experience that must be tried at least once in a lifetime. Even more, if you have never boarded a boat before, I bet that you will not regret it and indeed, you will not wait to do it again, especially if you rely on Your Boat Holiday!
