The best-secluded beaches of the Balearic Islands

We have decided to offer you, divided for each island, the destinations that in our opinion most respect the aforementioned characteristics. Below we offer a brief description of each of them:

The best-secluded beaches of Mallorca

Coll Baix, Majorca

Wild and unspoiled beach, Coll Baix is protected as a Natural Area of Special Interest and offers 250 meters of golden and brown sand that you must visit during a tour around Mallorca.

It is a bay located along the northern coast of the island, unreachable by car and surrounded by impressive jagged cliffs that make it difficult to access even on foot. This pristine bay also offers a perfect place to swim and snorkel in its turquoise waters.

For those interested in exploring a little, the coast around the bay offers a path hidden by pine trees that climbs to the top and allows you to enjoy a spectacular view of the horizon.

Cala Varques, Majorca

Located on the east coast of the island, it is the ideal place for those who want to enjoy a secluded and peaceful space.

Cala Varques is located 13 kilometers from Manacor and is a white sand beach, surrounded by a vast pine forest, particularly difficult to reach except by sea.

Regarded as one of the most beautiful unspoiled beaches on the east coast of Mallorca, Cala Varques is a wild bay with no facilities or services. It is a 100% natural bay located between the tourist resorts of Porto Cristo and Porto Colom, between Calas de Mallorca and Cala Romantica.

The beach is 50 meters long with white sand and turquoise waters worthy of a postcard. It is surrounded by low cliffs and a pine forest, and stands out for its tranquility and idyllic setting, away from the crowded and noisy seaside resorts.

The bes- secluded beaches of Menorca

Cala de Algaiarens, Menorca

Cala Algaiarens is a beautiful cove in the north of the island of Menorca. It consists of two of the most beautiful beaches in Menorca: Playa Des Tancat (the largest) and Playa Des Bot (the smallest). These are white sand beaches with calm and crystal clear waters.

Located 12 kilometers from the city of Ciutadella and 23 kilometers from Ferrerías, this coastal stretch is cataloged as Zona de Especial Protección para las Aves by the European Union (bird protection area) and Natural Area d’Especial Interès by the Parlament de les Illes Balears.

Being in a protected area, Cala Algaiarens does not have tourist services or restaurants. Furthermore, the waters are generally calm, suitable for children, and perfect for practicing water sports such as surfing. The sand is white and fine, which is quite rare in the coves of the north of Menorca.

Cala Pregonda, Menorca

Cala Pregonda is certainly one of the most beautiful and evocative beaches in Menorca. It is a red sand beach immersed in a wild environment shaped by the north wind.

Surrounded by red rocks and sand dunes formed by the action of the wind, it is characterized by clear and transparent blue water and by the presence of some rocky islets that protect it from the force of the sea. The cove is divided into two smaller beaches: the first of the two is also known by the name of Pregondó.

Cala Pregonda is not an equipped beach, so don’t expect to find bars and restaurants or sunbeds and umbrellas, but get ready to relax and immerse yourself in an unspoiled and wild natural environment.

The best-secluded beaches of Ibiza

Cala Llentrisca, Ibiza

Cala Llentrisca is the most isolated, intact, and lonely beach on the island. The only detectable human trace is represented by the traditional Chamizos which provide shelter to the fishermen’s Llauts and give the landscape an even more picturesque touch.

Cala Llentrisca is the ideal place for all scuba diving lovers. The crystalline purity of the waters that bathe this bay is renowned among Ibizan divers, as these depths give them all that nature has to offer.

It takes its nickname from the rocky ledge that rises behind it (Cap Llentrisca) and which also serves as a delimitation between the southern and western coasts of the island. From the top of this privileged point, you can enjoy a fabulous panoramic view of Ibiza and all its islets that emerge on the horizon.

Cala Llenya, Ibiza

Cala Llenya beach is quite touristy, very quiet, and equipped with a large number of services.

The beach is about 200 meters long, sandy (except at the extremes where we find rock formations), and the quality of the water has awarded it with the Blue flag. Beach volleyball is a popular sport on this beach, but water sports are the main attraction. Here you can take a windsurfing lesson or snorkel in the beautiful crystal clear water and explore the vibrant marine life.

Even in the high season, this is one of the quieter beaches in Ibiza, popular with families. It is undoubtedly a pleasant place to spend a full day at the beach, as there are many sheltered picnic areas among the pine trees.

The best-secluded beaches of Formentera

Espalmador island, Formentera

an uninhabited island a few meters from the coast, in the northernmost point of Formentera, with white beaches and incredibly clear waters. There are no buildings on this island, which are largely visited by luxury yacht owners on a day trip from Ibiza.

Right in the middle of this peaceful island are the natural mud plains which are easy to find. Walk to the north end of Platja de s’Alga and follow the narrow path that crosses the maquis behind the beach. You arrive in a vast saline plain that has liquid mud in the center. This area is an absolute paradise for birds and is protected by strict environmental laws. It’s an ornithologist’s dream, but remember, mud baths are absolutely not allowed.

Espalmador is truly a wonderful place to swim, sunbathe and discover the wonders of the flora and fauna of the Balearics, in a completely unspoiled environment.
