First week: from Cannes to Maddalena
The choice to sail from Cannes is not accidental but deliberate. It is in fact one of the main tourist ports of the Côte d’Azur and home to one of the most famous film festivals in the world. A perfect setting to prepare for departure, among boutiques, cafes, and chic restaurants.
Once we get acquainted with the crew onboard and lifted anchor, we head towards the Principality of Monaco, famous all over the world for being a place where luxury and opulence abound, starting from its marina, one of the most well-stocked and popular throughout the Mediterranean.
After sailing east, on the morning of the third day we wake up instead in the Italian waters of Portofino, a splendid village perched on a promontory from which you can enjoy unique sceneries.
The following day we reach the first of the two stops in Corsica, precisely the island’s second tourist port after Ajaccio with its almost 1,000 berths, Saint Florent. This town is often compared to Saint-Tropez for its architectural beauty and reputation as a classy resort.
The next stop is Elba island, the largest island in the Tuscan Archipelago and a favorite destination for yacht charterers in the Tyrrhenian Sea as it offers a series of safe landing places, beaches, and magnificent landscapes.
Sailing south we finally come to Porto Vecchio, a very popular tourist town that offers a very well-kept historic center with elegant shops such as, in its surroundings, some of the most beautiful Corsica beaches.
The week’s last destination is the Maddalena archipelago, located on the north-northern coast of Sardinia, off the Costa Smeralda. It consists of 7 major islands (La Maddalena, Caprera, Budelli, Santo Stefano, Santa Maria, Spargi, Razzoli) and several smaller islets, bathed by a wonderful and transparent sea. An unparalleled natural setting between secluded coves, pink beaches, and small historic villages.
Second week: from Porto Cervo to Taormina
The new week starts in Porto Cervo, undoubtedly one of the most renowned and appreciated tourist resorts of Costa Smeralda and Sardinia as well. A favorite destination for VIPs. This magnificent seaside town is internationally known for its glamorous disco parties and yacht clubs as well as a world-class marina.
Our tour keeps going on towards Capri, the blue island lying off the Gulf of Naples. It has always been synonymous with elegance, charm, and “Dolce Vita”. Summer is one of the favorite haunts of celebrities and the paparazzi who follow them and is known throughout the world for its landscapes, natural wonders, and its lush vegetation.
Actually, the island of Capri is like an extension of the mountainous and verdant Amalfi peninsula, home to the wonderful Sorrento, Positano, and Amalfi. We cannot fail to visit these wonderful places.
South of Naples gulf is the Eolian islands, a series of volcanic origin islands each of them hiding its own charm and beauties. They are arranged to form a large Y in front of the northern Sicily coast and have enchanted travelers from all over the world thanks to their seabed clarity, their natural environment with two active volcanoes named Stromboli and Vulcano as well as characteristic villages.
We end the second vacation week in Taormina, an authentic open-air museum. This city, located on the east coast of Sicily, is very rich in history that tells of Roman amphitheaters and temples.
The third week: let’s dive into the Greek and Turkish sea
Our last week on a charter boat begins by reaching the pearl of the Greek Ionian islands: Zakynthos. This island is mainly known for the worldwide famous Shipwreck Beach, a cove enclosed by imposing cliffs where a ship was wrecked and then transported to the beach, where it is still located today.
Set sail from Zakynthos, we head to the capital of Greece, Athens. To reach it we will use the famous Corinth artificial canal, located north of Athens and reachable by navigating the stretch of sea in front of Patras. It seems useless to us to list the countless historical attractions located in the Hellenic capital.
The trip turns towards its last part but enters the climax: in the following two days we will head towards the iconic archipelago of the Cyclades, in particular towards Mykonos, the capital of entertainment and all night long parties and Santorini, undoubtedly the Greek most visited and the desired island by tourists eager to admire its unique landscapes.
Finally, we end our tour by arriving in the splendid Bodrum where, after greeting the crew, you can spend some relaxing days in some resorts in the area, if the time at your disposal allows it.
