The Thy shipyard presented its first Maxi-Rib model called AWAVE 48 at the last Cannes boat show, which ended a few days ago.
An unmissable event in luxury yachting for the past 45 years, the Cannes Yachting Festival marks the beginning of the yachting season and is also the largest show on the water in Europe. Held from 6 to 11 September 2022, the latest edition, as usual, involved the entire Croisette, from the Vieux Port to Port Canto, from one end to the other.
Also on this occasion the best of the international offer of motor boats, sailboats, monohulls or multihulls was presented.
An edition of the Cannes Yachting Festival attended by more than 600 boats, as well as many exhibitors, offering a selection of the most heterogeneous. All the global yachting main players met in Cannes to open the nautical season and exhibit their news and world premieres.
Among these, the release of the Thy shipyard’s new jewel, the Maxi-Rib AWAVE 48, did not go unnoticed.
Overview
The maxi-rib, designed by architect Lino Siclari, has met with great success thanks to an innovative and distinctive design, the large outdoor spaces of the covered deck, a mighty hard-top and the large areas in the lower deck, finely furnished.
The main deck, with a large total area of 52 square meters, comfortably welcomes guests thanks to its two mobile terraces, allowing this maxi-rib to also be used as a Party Boat.
On the main deck there is also a large wheelhouse area with three armchairs, two comfortable sundecks aft and forward, a large and well-equipped kitchen cabinet, an extendable table with benches and seats capable of accommodating up to 10 guests and finally two sofas situated in the bow.
The lower deck, on the other hand, has ample space also in height. There is a comfortable forward cabin equipped with two wardrobes, a central dinette area equipped with a sofa and service cabinet with ice machine as well as a large cabin amidships with two large French beds and comfortable storage cabinets.
Finally, among the on-board amenities, stands a large 250-liter fresh water tank.
Performance and technical data
The performance of this new maxi-rib is truly brilliant. AWAVE 48 is equipped with a sterndrive engine consisting of 2 Volvo Penta engines of 430 horsepower each that allow it to reach a maximum speed of 36 knots. Optionally, to achieve greater performance, it is possible to install an additional motor, up to a maximum of 3 outboard motors of 450 horsepower each.
The boat boasts a respectable length and width of 14.60 and 5 meters respectively. A very short draft of only 0.80 meters and a displacement that exceeds 13 tons.
Volvo Penta engines are powered by a 1400 liter tank which guarantees a range, at cruising speed, of approximately 360 nautical miles.
